Scrapbooking and Paper Art Hobby

Its been a while since I found art journaling, scrapbooking and art swaps. I had a  blast, I have already participated in about 4 swaps where I make the things required, send them off to my person to exchange and in return I will get things back, its fun! I have signed up for 5 more, it was so fun, I think I’m hooked. So with that said, I would like to share a few things I have made recently, so here goes. Let me know what you think.

These were doilies for a swap I made and included a stick pin to go with each doily. I fussy cut the photos, embellished with glitter, ribbon and added a foam back for dimension. The swaps took place on Art & Sassy Network (which has since closed) where they have monthly swaps and challenges. It is really fun to meet new crafters both international and here in the US.

I am really enjoying crafting again, I have been making jewelry for the past 5 years but now its all kinds of paper arts, creating journals from recycling small boxes like a bandaid box, or a candy box making junk journals, stick pins, art tags and Art Trading Cards ATC’s. I am even making Zentangles, little pieces of doodle art. Never knew there was a fancy name for doodling. Anyway I am excited with the new found hobby, actually more like full time. I get started and forget the rest of my day.

I have found new things to shop for and made some great buys on Ebay for my new projects and looking for more, I am also using things I have in my destash, needless to say theres plenty, but the rubber stamps, inks, sprays, paints, Gesso, scrapbook paper and embellishments and the like I did not have. I use a lot of Michael’s and Joann’s coupons to save on all the supplies too. And hunted Etsy and found tons of scrapbooking websites for supplies.

I have also spent lots of time watching videos to see how others use products to make things, wow there is a lot of talented ladies and gents out there. I’m hoping to try my hand at sharing on videos too, have to learn how to use our video camera.

Well off I go to see what else I can create, hope to get back into Wordless Wednesday soon as well, I miss that. Until next time!!!
