What are the Pro’s and Con’s of speech therapy?
First I was fortunate when my kids were devopling the speech with no problems but I have a grandson that has some problems with speech, sounding out words to use when communicating with his friends and parents. He might even think one words is spoken differenting than should be used, which has gotten him into trouble socializing. You can imagine the confusing words that can be used so it was important that my daughter took steps to help him with his speech early, when he was about 3 1/2. For him was about Expressive Language skills and since therapy he is on his way to normal communication with his family and friends.
By catching it early it has helped prepare him for preschool for communication through speech/articulation, phonology, apraxia, voice, fluency, reading/writing comprehension, auditory processing, ASD, cognitive deficits and dysphagia among other developmental/acquired speech and language difficulties.
There are many forms of speech problems;
