As some of you may know last week I started this NEW feature for sharing a tour of bloggers kitchens and a recipe, such a great way to get to know them. As I show more of these features, some will be of remodeled kitchens and some in a brand new homes. Which ever it is, Im sure like me, you will enjoy seeing and dreaming about a nice kitchen where you with your family cook and bake up some wonderful recipes. So join me now as we go South to Ecuador……….Enjoy!!
My Sunday morning feature starts in Ecuador with Fabby from “Fabby’s Living” Awesome Home!!!
Fabby is retired now, and this gives her time for decorating and tablescaping which is her passion…She also loves to entertain at home and cook for her guests, they’re usually friends and family. She loves family heirlooms, “as they always have a beautiful story to tell”.
Fabby lives in Cuenca Ecuador with her husband in a lovely apartment she has decorated beautifully. This is her kitchen after remodeling. She loves baking cookies with the girls and decorating them too, especially the ⇒Christmas ginger cookies.⇐
I found her kitchen on her blog and thought it to wonderful not to share, one of the parts that caught my eye were her stove and ovens, would they be great for the upcoming holidays?
And as you move through the kitchen she has so many features that are wonderful, all the beautiful cabinetry drawers and cupboards.A drawer for her spices how wonderful!
I love all the counter space, you can never have enough, it would be fun to bake or cook in her kitchen and she has a wonderful view as well…..
I would say, she has a gorgeous view, I would love to have a river flowing by while I enjoy a cup of tea, how about you? Or this one to sit by………..
Our Sunday Recipe Feature
Now for a special recipe I found on her blog OLD-FASHIONED CHOCOLATE CHEWY FUDGE BROWNIES, that look wonderful and an easy recipe with a family favorite addition, shared in the recipe. I will be trying these soon!
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 Cups sugar
- 1 Cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 (1-ounce) squares bitter chocolate (unsweetened chocolate)
- 1/2 Cup butter, or margarine
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 Cup walnuts, or pecans,chopped
- 1/2 Cup shredded coconut (optional)
Instructions
- Combine sugar, flour, and salt in a medium mixing bowl, or (Kitchen Aid bowl): mix well, and set aside.
- Melt chocolate and butter on Microwave, or as you know better...maybe for a minute on high.
- Gradually mix chocolate mixture on flour mixture. Stir eggs, vanilla, and chopped nuts. (shredded coconut, if you like).
- Pour batter on a square, greased and floured pan: 9x9x2-inch pan.
- Bake at 325F. for 40-45 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- Cool.
- Cut into squares to serve. Yield 16 big squares...like in the picture, you can cut them smaller for tea parties, or serve the big squares with ice-cream for dessert.
Notes
Quote from Fabby and in her words, " This fudge brownie recipe was given to me by my friend Stephanie and they came from some southern, vintage Baking Book she has from her aunt. This Fudge Brownies are the best recipe ever...so here they are and so is the recipe."
So I hope you have enjoyed the tour and this fabulous Brownie Recipe from Fabby’s Living and a view of her kitchen. I hope that you will stop by and visit to say hello to Fabby!! She has many more and colorful photos to share, including wonderful tablescapes. She uses the most beautiful tableware and creates a wonderful setting for her guests and family!! I would bet she shops for a lot of her tableware in Ecuador.
