Its true that florist flowers are more expensive than those that you can buy in the grocery store, but the quality of the flowers outweighs the higher cost.

Plus a florist can work with you to create custom arrangements with a professional flare for special occasions, weddings and funerals.Florists of course are more knowledgeable and care more about flowers than the grocery store.

A florist makes flowers their business, and because they do, you receive the best quality and advice on caring for your flowers when you bring them home or order them to be delivered.

Supermarket Flowers
Supermarket flowers are often short-lived because the flowers are not cared for properly to keep them fresh.

Affordability: Supermarket stores flowers are affordable and cost a fraction of a professional bouquets from a florist. But flower selection is usually limited to stock on hand than the average floral shop.

Service: There is not usually someone there to answer questions you may have, you see a supermarket floral department is not a priority and the quality might not be the best.

    I only buy flowers from a grocery store if it is last minute because like you mentioned they just don’t look as fresh and glowing which you want if you are giving them as a gift!

    I usually skip both and cut flowers from my garden. I love them but they die. I can’t justify spending the money when I can apply it towards a quality silk flower arrangement.

    Ive bought from both but if money wasnt a factor I would buy from a florist because they hve such a varied selection and you can pick and they make up the bouquet how you want it

    Thanks for these fabulous tips. I do love all the advantages you get from buying at a florist the downfall is the price. I personally don’t buy fresh flowers and would love to, to dress up the decor a bit. I might start with the grocery store though first to save a little money unless it’s for a special occasion.

    I just adore getting flowers, no matter where they come from! Flowers from the florists do tend to last longer, but I’ve had some grocery store bouquets that lasted a couple of weeks! I’m just thrilled with any of them.

    Fresh cut flowers are soooo expensive that I rarely purchase them. But when I do, it’s usually from a grocery store. I really prefer to get them from my yard whenever some are in bloom.

    It really depends on the place you buy from. The supermarket Bought my flowers from was able to special order in the ones I wanted, I just had to let them know in advance. Which I think you would have to do with a regular florist too if you wanted specific ones.

    Very interesting article. I wish we had a nice florist here. I have bought flowers at a flower shop and at a store and found beautiful flowers at both. I think the flowers from the florist shop are fresher and last longer. Thank you for such a good article

    I have been given flowers from florists and grocery stores and it really just depends on the place. I have had them die really fast from some grocery stores while they stay alive a long time from the florists and vice versa. Thanks for sharing!
