Buy-Local-at-fast-foods-and-take-out-restaurants-to-support-independent-ownersOut of concern that the Coronavirus could spread by people gathering in restaurants and the fact that it would be so labor-intensive to follow guidelines to sanitize everything that could be touched, like condiments, silverware, tables, chairs, doors even menus it would be inundated for workers to keep up. Thus the need to shut down fast-food dining rooms and restaurants to prevent contagion of the Covid-19 virus. And I for one believe this can help. However, in doing this, can you imagine how many small business owners this is effecting?

I did some research and in 2019 there were 15.3 million restaurants which equate to 1.6 million employees. Right now there have been numerous businesses that closed their doors saying. “they are done”. While others will struggle to keep their doors open and keep some if not all their employees, but in some situations there have 1000’s put out of work. Many small independent owners want to help their communities by providing a place to get food so they are trying to make adjustments in how they run their business by following the government guidelines, workers washing hands, wearing masks and gloves.

    this Corona virus has so many horrid impacts, including to our small business owners like restaurants. We have similar policy of social distancing and therefore take-away food is highly recommended to keep us safe yet at the same time help the restaurant continue their business.
