Wedding Table Setting On a Budget 1 comment

Weddings can be a huge strain on your bank account but you don’t need to spend a lot to achieve a stylish and unique wedding table setting.

By carefully selecting centrepieces and getting creative you can still create a beautiful table setting on a budget.

To get you started, here are some table setting ideas themed for each season of the year.

Spring Wedding

Yellow flowers with crystals

Spring is the perfect time to use the nature around you. Why not pick yellow as your colour theme?

Go out on an excursion to pick yellow flowers for your wedding table and you’ll end up saving a large amount of money on ordering flowers.

Instead of splashing out on expensive cutlery and wine glasses, consider renting coloured glassware and copper cutlery. This will fit perfectly with the spring theme and allow you to spend that money on a stunning wedding cake!

Use a long wooden table as the base of your wedding table setting and follow a table setting guide to make sure you set the table appropriately.

An affordable, spring themed table centrepiece is to create a long eucalyptus garland. To finish off the table setting, drape some yellow fabric around the flower vases.

Summer Wedding

Summer wedding picnic

Summer is the perfect time to take your wedding outdoors. A cheap wedding table setting idea is to have a picnic instead of a formal dinner!

Instead of tables, have blankets and pillows on the ground and at each blanket place a picnic basket filled with goodies and wine.

Have disposable cutlery and printed napkins in the basket and, to finish off the picnic setting, place some handpicked flowers in a jar full of lemons and water.

This is a unique and fun idea that will save you spending thousands on a more formal affair with chairs and tables.

Autumn Wedding

Autumn leaves

Go for deep, warm colours for your autumn themed table setting. Think burgundy, emerald green and mustard yellow.

For your table centrepiece lay a burgundy cloth down the centre of the table and scatter autumn leaves and pine cones across it.

Go for copper cutlery and put little yellow candles at each place setting to add an autumn feel. To finish off the setting, tie a banksia flower to each napkin.

A fun idea is to welcome each guest with a glass of homemade mulled wine, topped with a cinnamon quill.

Winter Wedding

Lavender bunch

A striking centrepiece that won’t break the bank is a candle tree made from an old tree branch. Dot several of these across the centre of the table.

Break the candle trees up with vases of winter flowers like lavender. To add a unique touch to the flower vases, pour a few drops of blue dye into the water to really create a winter wonderland.

Cutlery wise, it’s best to go with white as it fits with the winter theme. To finish off the place setting attach a sprig of lavender to the napkin holder.

Arranging your own table setting is a great idea, but make sure that you put time aside to do the tables as you don’t want to be running around the morning of your wedding trying to perfect the table.

By choosing flowers that are in season and utilising the effect of candles you can save a significant amount of money while still creating a stunning table display.
