5 Must Know Travel Tips When Vacationing to Cancun-Oh My Heartsie Girl Travel Series

Traveling to Cancun is sure to be a lot of fun as there are so many opportunities to explore nature, enjoy the nightlife, and relax on the beach or by the pool during the day. Before you set out to explore a place that you have never been before, you will likely do some research and get a feel for the land you are visiting. This article will provide a few tips to keep in mind when traveling to Cancun.

1-Take care of your currency

Mexico is strict when it comes to currency and the use of proper money in exchange for goods. For example, if you have a bill that has been slightly torn, it is against the law to use the money in any way. Even giving a tip with a torn bill is unacceptable. Be sure that you receive and exchange bills that are in good condition and are not torn. If you do receive a torn bill, you will not be able to use it and therefore you have in essence lost money. Pay attention and be diligent in how you care for your currency. Also, keep in mind that you are able to use US currency.

2-Pedestrians

Be careful when crossing the street or walking in roadways. Unlike many places in the world, pedestrians do not have the right of way in Mexico and this should be remembered at all times. To avoid a serious mishap, be smart and look both ways before crossing the street.

3-Beachfront hotelsTravel CancunBeachfront hotels are typically private property and do not permit trespassers. In addition, these establishments prefer that you do not allow your guests to use their private beaches as well. Your guests should enjoy the beach from their accommodations. With that said, there are several points around Cancun that will allow guests to access part of the island. Look out for these spots if you have an interest in leaving the private beachfront hotel property to enjoy some time with friends.

4-Water

Be sure to drink bottled water as not all bacteria has been cleaned from water resources. While hotels may offer bottled water, be sure that the seal remains intact or you could be drinking faulty water.

5-Rent a yacht or boatRent a YachtOne of the best parts of traveling to Cancun is that you can rent a yacht or a boat and explore by water. While out on your yacht, be sure that you stop by and visit the Isla Mujeres. It is a gorgeous island and a great place to see. Located about 13 kilometers off of the coast of Cancun in the Caribbean Sea, this island is majestic and serene. You can snorkel, scuba dive, and explore lighthouses and remains of a Mayan temple while on your visit. If renting a yacht in Cancun is something you feel you might want to do then make sure you find out more before you book. You will never forget this experience and it will be a great place to make memories with family or friends.
