Are You Thinking About Starting Your Own Blog?

I will cover a few ideas on what to expect when contemplating building your first blog or if you have been blogging for a short while and find you need more information.

Newbie Bloggers Learning CurvesCommon Newbie Internet Marketing Mistakes
As a newbie internet marketer, you are bound to make a few mistakes when you’re first starting out, especially since you aren’t born with internet marketing skills, though it would be cool if you were.

It’s perfectly understandable, to be expected and nothing to be ashamed of. It’s not the mistakes that make us wrong, it’s choosing not to correct them when we find out that does.

One thing you will want to keep in mind is that every successful online marketer has had to start at the beginning and learn, I did back in 2009 and knew that along the way I committed several marketing faux pas. However, I didn’t let mistakes and errors stop me, I just kept on blogging. I have always said, and have you heard this phrase, “fake it until you make it”. Random For Newbie Bloggers

Take a look at any successful internet marketer. They could be a millionaire, own several companies or be an extremely wide known and successful blogger or the top person in their direct sales or MLM business. They all have one thing in common. They were not born knowing the ins and outs of internet marketing.
It’s trial and error for all of us, including those who may be perceived as the best of the best and even now, those people are not perfect and still apt to make mistakes from time to time.

Huge success doesn’t mean that you are immune to and exempt from making mistakes ever, it means that you are good at what you do and that you correct mistakes.

People respect when you correct your mistakes, it’s the one that sweeps all mistakes under the rug and pretends like they don’t exist that most people find a problem with. This shows them that you are real and caring, not just out to gain a dollar with no regard to anyone else.

It’s truly not the end of the world if you make a mistake. All you have to do is just try your best to get on the right track the second you find or figure out that something you’re doing isn’t right. Sometimes this is a very simple task and sometimes it’s a little harder but it can be done.

That is what counts. While you’re never going to be perfect, no matter how hard you try, you do have in your possession, the ability to make changes once you find out that you are on the wrong course.

Never let pride or greed, stand in your way of doing the right thing. You’ll gain more respect and more business for the long term if you do things the right way and are known for being one of the good guys, an online marketer that can be trusted. Unfortunately greed and lack of ethics is prevalent in online marketing.

Don’t be afraid to apologize if necessary, that can go a long way in the way that others view you if they see that you aren’t scared to admit that you made a mistake and that you are more than willing to correct it.

Common mistakes of new internet marketers:
They unknowingly become spammers. They don’t set out to spam others but many new online marketers simply don’t know online etiquette, they’re super excited about their opportunity or products and they don’t realize that they can’t just message other people about their opportunity.

They don’t get how annoying this is for others and while this may be common sense for some people, it isn’t for everyone so don’t be so hard on yourself if you are doing this or have done it in the past. Sometimes new marketers make this mistake because they see others promoting their opportunities this way and they think that it’s okay.

Many newbies are sucked into bad opportunities, they see the masses promoting them in drove and they really believe that they can create a six figure income in a weekend or get an unbelievable amount of referrals in a short period of time. Many who are new to online businesses and marketing online, lack the ability to discern good opportunities from bad.

They don’t automatically think that people are trying to scam them and some desperately need to make money and so they are more easily sucked into the schemes that only pad the pockets of the scam artists. They want to succeed so bad that all caution goes to the wind.

Keep in mind the saying that if something seems to good to be true, that it most likely is. You must do due diligence before making decisions if you aren’t already familiar with a product, person or service.

It can save you plenty of money and frustration if you do a little detective work. It’s for your own protection and information about many products, services and people can easily be found online in the search engines if you look for it. You won’t easily be taken if you are well informed.

Look outside of the group of people that you see promoting whatever it is, to get an objective opinion, and if you find that it’s on the up and up, go back to whoever introduced you to the product, service or business and purchase or join through them.

DollarsBe Ready To Make Small Investments For Your Blog:
Most newbies start out believing that everything should be given to them free and they dismiss the important things that may cost like building a responsive emailing list that they can consistently use in order to connect with and they reject using self hosted blogging with a domain of their own to build a wider audience.

While, it’s true that you can make money using all free tools, it’s much harder. Your business will outgrow them if it becomes successful and as the saying goes, you truly do get what you pay for.

If your budget allows, it is best to start out with tools that will make it easier for you. If not, you can upgrade to better tools as you are able. It’s much easier to start out with some quality tools that are inexpensive if you can, a self hosted blog and email autoresponder are very affordable and will be a huge part of your business, even once you are successful.

You won’t have to transfer all of your blog posts later or switch all of your subscribers to a new email list. The time you have to spend on those tasks could be better spent on your business if you start off from the beginning with the tools that you need. Other tools and gadgets, you can add later as your business growth calls for it and your income is able to cover it.

Making some or all of these mistakes can really frustrate one who is new to marketing online and cause them to give up if their drive to create an income isn’t strong enough.

Your Investment in Time:

It can be very tiring to invest a lot of time or money into something with no return whatsoever. It doesn’t necessarily mean that your opportunity is bad or that there is no market for it, it could be a simple mistake or two, holding you back, that if corrected could help you tremendously.

Never be afraid to change for the good and as time goes on, your thoughts and feelings about marketing will change as your learn and grow. Correcting and sharing your mistakes could help the next newbie starting out.

Many who are gung ho about starting an online business don’t start out with a huge budget for training materials. In the beginning many newbies have to rely free training and searching back and forth through the search engines to find reliable answers and solutions. If you are willing to put in the legwork and adapt and upgrade as your circumstances allow in order to learn more and grow, you’ll do just fine. Blogging can indeed be time consuming and it’s important that you never give up and always try to improve your blog. For more than a year I had the impression that I was hardly progressing and that no one was reading my blog. And then it suddenly took off, as if the change happened overnight.

I’ll take your word on this. My blog is just for fun and I don’t want any ads nor do I want to sell anything. That would require work. I’m not into work anymore.

    Have a fabulous day. 🙂
