Crunchy Cinnamon Granola

Homemade Cinnamon Crunchy Granola

I found this recipes many years ago when we lived in San Antonio in a store add, I just came across it the other day and decided to make it up again. IGranola Ingredients Photo

It is very easy to make and you can change or add up your own ingredients as you choose, in the end I added some pumpkin seeds. Granola Mixture

You would just melt the jelly and butter to use as coating for your granola. You can choose to use a different jelly in place of apple. Thats what make this recipe nice as you can change it up to your families liking. Before and after baking granola

Its great to eat by its self, added as a topping for granola, sprinkled on top of a apple crisp or fruit up or apple sauce. Would make a great after school snack or carried with you for a great pick me up.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup apple jelly or your choice
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter or Margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup Old Fashion Oats
  • 2/3 cup Sliced Almonds
  • 1 cup Raisins

Instructions

  1. There are only 2 ingredients that coat and hold the granola together, butter and apple jelly. Note: You can choose the jelly to be used, but I have only used the apple.
  2. Heat oven to 325.
  3. Set a 9x13 baking pan aside. Microwave on high power for 1 minute until jelly and butter are melted; stir to combine.
  4. Add cinnamon, oats, almonds and toss to coat. Spread mixture evenly into pan and bake for 20 - 25 minutes, stirring twice during baking. After baking add the raisins or other fruit and toss before cooling, this prevents the fruit from hardening.
  5. Spread mixture on a sheet of foil or parchment to cool.
  6. Once cool, place in a plastic bag or container and seal tightly.

Six Ingredient Crunchy Cinnamon GranolaThis recipe for granola is so simple but yet so good and can be changed by adding other ingredients, like coconut, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds without having to change the rest of the recipe. I have added the above and it creates more bulk. But it does change the nutritional values.
